1 | PURPOSE
This tool can help you remove Admitad from the redirection journey from your ad space to the advertiser. It will help you avoid cases where browsers and extensions wrongfully impose blockings and prepare for the changes to the Privacy Policy. You can read more about the benefits and features on the Admitad Teleport main page.

The tool is intended for the ad spaces where:

  • An affiliate link is in the website content.
  • The publisher wants to monetize clicks on direct links to the advertiser website (the ad space must be connected to an affiliate program). With that, it's not necessary to replace affiliate links with direct links: the plugin supports both categories.
  • Affiliate links are contained in the page code: the website does not employ internal redirections to affiliate links.
  • There is no backend developer, or Teleport API cannot be integrated.

EXPLANATION
Loading the publisher page
On the publisher website, the plugin searches for direct links to the advertiser website, or affiliate links—to transform them upon clicking.
Clicking on the link
  • At the time of a click, a background request is sent to Admitad's special domains. Also SubID (if specified in affiliate links) are sent to Admitad for further action tracking.
  • The script transforms affiliate links / supported direct links into target links to the advertiser website, equipping them with all the tracking parameters (first of all with admitad_uid).
  • The script redirects the user to the advertiser website (without any redirections to ad.admitad.com that the browser may detect)
Loading the advertiser website
The advertiser accepts the user on the website or on the internal tracking platform. The advertiser saves the target link's parameters and uses them during tracking.

Prepare the script for deploying on the website:
  1. Prepare your publisher_id. You can find it in your account, on the General Settings page. 
  2. Prepare your ad space ID (website_id). You can find it on the Ad Space tab in the address (when editing the ad space):

Add information about your ad space

In the script, replace publisher_id and website_id with your publisher and ad space IDs, remove the braces, and embed the script into your website code before the closing tag </body>.

There are some links that Teleport does not support or supports with limitations:

1 | Unsupported links (only direct).
When using direct links, Teleport Script does not transform links to domains of some sites in the gaming segment (where different products are placed on the same site) or app stores. You can find the full list of such domains here. Do not use such direct links if you are going to use Teleport Script. For programs using such a domain, use an affiliate link from the account: Teleport Script will transform it correctly.

2 | Links to programs with limited support (direct or affiliate).
You can freely publish direct and affiliate links; traffic on such programs will go through classic redirections and you will lose no conversions.
The list of such programs is dynamic and not publicly accessible. We are trying to make Teleport available for all integrations, so the program may appear in and disappear from the list of limitedly-supported programs.
Dummy error
It works as always: if your ad space is not connected to an affiliate program, we will redirect the user to the dummy page:

We recommend responding to such redirections through the Broken links report (also available via API): if there are errors in your report, redirect traffic to programs your ad space is connected to.
4 | TESTING TELEPORT SCRIPT
You can check functioning of Teleport Script in any of the following ways:

Check the script performance
At the first time of installing of the script, embed it into a zero-traffic page and just check whether it transforms links correctly. Place a test order to make sure tracking works properly: you must see the action in your reports.

Please note that actions may be displayed with a delay of up to 24 hours for some advertisers
А/B TESTING
By default, the program employs internal A/B testing. Traffic is alternated upon every page load: in 50% of cases, the script will lead your user to Option A (Teleport); in the rest 50% of cases, to Option B (classic redirect).

To get the test results, send a request via tickets or directly to your personal manager. In the ticket/message, specify ad space ID and the period you need to check.

If you want to use Teleport Script in 100% of cases (without A/B testing), add the parameter &abt=0 to the script's src attribute, right after your website_ID.
We don't recommend assessing performance when using the tool in 100% of cases and only judging from CR changes in different periods: statistics may be affected by the season and other events and affairs.
Other testing methods (configured by the publisher):

  1. Alternate between showing the user a direct and an affiliate link—to see what converts better. With that, you need to use the plugin in both cases: it will transform both links. On request, we can send you the test result for both link categories.
  2. Checking through SubID. If you work with affiliate links without replacing them with direct ones, you can set up script actuation in alternation (don't forget to disable A/B testing on Admitad's side; otherwise your results will be inaccurate—see disabling instructions above). This way, you will be able to see the difference for yourself:

Can I copy the product link on the advertiser website and paste it to my ad space? Will Teleport transform such a direct link?
Yes, Teleport Script will transform such a link, given its domain conforms with the settings of the program to which your ad space is connected.
How do I know which domain belongs to my affiliate program?

You can learn the domain this way:
  • Go to the affiliate program description from All Programs.
  • Hover the cursor over the affiliate program logo in the upper-left corner of the description.
  • RMB-click the logo and select Copy Link Address (see the illustration above)
  • Be guided by the domain from the copied address.
When you hover over the logo, I see one domain; after you click the logo and get redirected to the advertiser website, I see the other one. Which one should I deploy on my ad space if I want to use direct links?
You may want to align with the domain copied from the logo link: that domain will conform with the program settings.
Are SubIDs supported?
Currently, SubID parameters are only supported for affiliate links. We are working on adding SubID support for direct links.
How do I know that my program is limitedly-supported by Teleport?
For such programs, the direct link will always be transformed into an affiliate link, and a classic redirection through Admitad will take place. If you need to know whether the program is supported, follow these instructions:

  • take the affiliate link and replace the parameter /g/ with /tpt/ in it: (see the illustration above)
  • open the link in the browser and check the result. If the program is not supported at the moment, you will see the message:

Instead of {campaign_id}, the affiliate program ID will be indicated.


Important! You will not lose traffic for such programs: Teleport Script will process them, but according to old rules (see Restrictions and errors — Limited-transformation links).

In some programs, I see redirections even if I use Teleport. Why does it happen?
In some programs, we redirect users not to the advertiser website but to the advertiser's internal tracking platform; after this, another redirection happens, and this is considered normal behavior. Further, we are going to set up tracking with the advertiser so that the user is only redirected to the advertiser's final address.
What do I do to disable transformation of specific direct or affiliate links on my ad space?
Add the attribute pubtag="0" to the link in your website code. Once you do this, the plugin will ignore such a link.

I deployed a script and a direct link, placed a test order, but can't see it in reports. What do I do?
Some advertisers send orders once a day. Wait for 24 hours. Also, check whether your domain is on the list of unsupported domains: the script does not process such links even if the program is active. To enable Teleport for such a program, use an affiliate link on your website.
